Journeys to Egypt

Welcome to gallery page Egypt 2001

Saqqara: Today I was interested in the magazine rooms and other peripheral structures of Djosers complex. Mainly I wanted to find the new discovered Djoser statues in Heb-Sed-cloaks, which are intrpreted by Miroslav Verner as Osiris statues. Strange, because Osiris first appeared in Egyptian religin more than 200 years after Djoser.
Unfortunately my camera broke down that day, it stopped transporting the film, so these pictures are the last from this voyage.

Tems of use: The pictures can be used for private publications, if my name (Frank Doernenburg) is given as originator, and a link to this site ( http//fdoernenburg.de/eng ) is given.
For commerial use larger pictures are available. Please contact me if interested.
